WORKSHOPS
FOR DANCE STUDENTS
This workshop is usually taught by two dancers of the company
and is of two hours duration (a 90 minute workshop is possible
if required). The workshop will start with a warm-up contemporary
dance class. Influenced by elements of both Limon and Release
technique, the class will emphasise dynamic variety, spatial awareness
and the use of weight and momentum.
In the second part of the workshop the dancers will focus on partnering
and group work. The emphasis is not on difficult lifts but on
exploring possibilities of creating a physical dialogue between
two or more dancers. Through specific tasks and discussions the
aim is to encourage participants to develop their own creative
potential.
Led by highly experienced dancers, participants can expect to:
-
Gain a unique experience of working with
professional dancers
-
Increase their knowledge of body awareness,
contemporary dance and performance skills
-
Gain a deeper understanding of choreographic
and compositional skills
-
Get an insight into the creative process
and the company‚s working methods
Note: This workshop needs to take place in a dance
studio.
The dancers need access to the studio at least 30 minutes before
start of the workshop to warm-up.
Maximum participant number is 20.
